How to Set Tags in LINE Official Account

What are LINE Tags?

In LINE official accounts, you can add “tags” to friends with whom you can chat, allowing you to manage your customers. Additionally, you can send messages to only those friends who have specific “tags.” For example, you can create tags freely like the following for your operations:

・Customer Types: “New Customers,” “Repeat Customers,” “VIP”
・Visit Months: “Visit: January,” “Visit: February”
・Birthday Months: “Birth Month: July,” “Birth Month: August”

You can create up to a maximum of 200 tags, and you can assign up to 10 tags to each individual user.

How to Set LINE Tags?

Open LINE official account Manager, and “Click “Chats” button.

Click gear Icon on the left side, and click “Tags”.

Click “+Create new”.

Input your tag name freely, and click “Save”.

When you succeed in making a tag, it has been added like below. This indicates how many people have been assigned the tag.

After making a tag, open a chat screen of the person to whom you want to assign tags. Then, click “+Add tags”.

Select the tags you would like to assign, and click “Save”.

If the tags have been successfully assigned as below, it’s correct.

Method to send messages only to people with tags.

If you want to send messages to only people who have tags, you have to finish “Audience” setting first.

Audience: The function that allows you to narrow down the recipients when you want to send a message to specific individuals is essential for achieving this. Without setting this up, the current task cannot be accomplished.

Click “Audiences” on the left side, and click “Create new”.

Select “Chat tag audience”, and name as you like. After that, select the tags you would like to include in the audience by clicking “Select” button.

After saving, you will see a screen like below, which shows making audience has completed.

Open “New broadcast” screen, and select “Targeting”. Then, Click pen icon of “Audiences”.

Select “Include”, and click “Add”

You will see like below. Targeting setting has completed.

When to Use LINE Tags?

1.Send a broadcast message to people with tags

In the case of sending messages to LINE official accounts, you can specify users who have been assigned specific chat tags for broadcasting messages. This is one of the most common ways to utilize tags.

For example, you can send the following types of broadcasts:

・Send birthday coupons only to users with the “Birth Month” tag.
・Send information about a special repeat customer discount sale only to users with the “Repeat Customers” tag.

2.You can manage customers with tags

In the chat section, you’ll see a list of friends with whom you can chat. From this list, you can narrow down users who have specific tags like below.

Click “Search” icon on the chat screen, and input tag name you like.

The users who have the tag you want to investigate have been filtered.
